About Me

Hi, I'm Kim

Let's talk about the story behind the name. First off, I'm a California born and raised gal, and I'd like to think one of the most real people you know. After what I've calculated to be 39 moves, I find myself residing in one of the places I love most, Phoenix, AZ. After a few moves back and forth from here, I've always known desert life is for me!

At one point in time, I found myself living in a high rise in downtown NYC with an incredible view of the Statue of Liberty from the rooftop deck. This was 1 West Street, NY, New York. This is when I discovered my love for city life, the lights, the hustle and bustle, the shopping, the go, go, go and never slowing down! But what's so important about my time living at 1 West St and why does it stand out? This is when I found what I truly loved in life and a feeling of such excitement and happiness I had never known before. I get this every time I visit and and have a passion about that city life! All of that to be said, I feel the exact same way when doing events of any sort.

After a few years of international living I found myself back in West Coast, USA doing events just for fun. I realized the passion never died. I wanted a name with class, and one that I can create into a brand, that I know I'd never want to change the name of. After about 24 hours of thinking and not much more, I knew One West Street was "the one". Because of the rush of passion and love I felt as a Central California girl, living the city life, it's an equal feeling to my love and passion for events. It just made sense! I finally found somewhere me and what most people might call my "crazy" ideas belonged. Just as I felt about being in NYC.

Approximately 10+ years later, after running events at venues, and even for a bigger corporation for my primary job, I decided to make the jump. The amount of "framily" as I like to call them that would tell me year after year, event after event, that I should just do it was what finally made it happen. I could not ask for a better support system.

For those who know me, you'll know, I don't like attention. (even writing this is a bit painful), but know that I love to have social gatherings where everyone can enjoy time together, and I LOVE celebrating others, for any possible reason! So, let's do this.

We plan. You party.

A very important piece to our story...What I didn't include in our story above, is that, the opportunity for me to live in NYC, that had such a huge impact on my life, was all made possible because of my brother in law and sister. My brother in law was transferred to NYC for his job, they had a baby not long after and offered for me to come move there and help with the baby as they were both working professionals. Little did I know the impact this time would have on my life. On November 4, 2021 we unexpectedly lost my brother in law who left behind his wife and 4 kids. As times like this do, it made me reflect on every chapter in life and where I would be without this experience. I'm so grateful for his positive impact. We think about and miss you everyday, Gregory Duke!  Without you, One West Street wouldn't exist and I couldn't let that go without saying.
